A beautiful day in Leland...

We had a good nights sleep and even with the wind blowing I believe this will be a good day into Wilmington. A few people have come up to us as I have prepared to walk this morning. A man with his small son came for a picture, a man who told me he was diabetic as well as his two daughters, and another whose mother and sister were suffering from the disease. Again, I think to show those close to you you care and love them yo might want to walk with them and avoid or control diabetes. Those who can, please give to an organization of your choice. Now I better get going, the tenth of March is getting close and I will need to get back to my old Kentucky home, far away.

Heard about this guy walking with a globe from my niece who met you yesterday and then I saw you myself this morning and saw just what you were walking for! How great it is that you are out raising awareness for a cause that affects so many...good luck with it and the connections you make in people's lives because of it!

I live in Leland NC and saw you walking with your globe and dog. I was worried for you at first because you were getting ready to cross a bridge on 74 and the traffic was heavy. I was driving or I would have stopped and spoke to you. My 5 year old daughter wanted me to say hi to you for her, and I just wanted to say you are AWESOME. I am so sorry to hear you have hurt your knee and I hope you have a speedy recovery!
